Women's Flag Football: A Growing Sport

Flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, and we are proud to be part of its momentum. As a non-contact version of the game, flag is safe, affordable, and accessible, making it an ideal entry point for athletes of all ages and skill levels. Girls’ flag football is now sanctioned as a high school sport in many states, opening doors for young athletes who want to compete and grow in the game. The sport’s global profile will rise even higher in 2028, when flag football makes its debut at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

At the Storm, we embrace flag football as a pathway to opportunity and equity. Through our involvement in the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC), we provide a professional platform where women can showcase their skills at the highest level. Our work in Northern California includes youth camps, college partnerships, and the Golden State Showdown, which highlights high school flag football games across Northern California with professional-quality video, photos, and interviews.

By investing in flag football from the ground up, we’re creating visibility for athletes, building community, and inspiring the next generation of women in football. For us, flag isn’t just a sport, it’s a movement toward growth, equity, and a stronger future for women in athletics.
