STORM WARNING: ALL-PRO PLAYMAKER AYANNA FORD SIGNS WITH GOLDEN STATE STORM FOR 2027 SEASON

OAKLAND, CA — The Golden State Storm today officially announced another blockbuster roster move ahead of the 2027 Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC) season: the signing of elite wide receiver and defensive standout Ayanna Ford.

Ford makes her highly anticipated move to Northern California following a spectacular tenure with the Utah Falconz, where her crisp route-running, sticky hands, and high-IQ playmaking made her one of the most feared aerial targets in the country. Known for consistently forcing opposing defensive coordinators to re-architect their entire game plans, Ford provides the Storm with a true two-way weapon—delivering deep-threat capability on offense alongside lockdown pass coverage on defense.

Her addition further solidifies Oakland’s aggressive, high-flying identity as the franchise gears up for its second WNFC campaign.

“Ayanna is an absolute game-changer whose work ethic and track record speak for themselves,” noted the Golden State Storm coaching staff. “Adding a vertical threat of her caliber gives our offense an entirely new dimension while giving our defense another instinctual, physical playmaker. We are building a culture of relentless excellence out here in Oakland, and Ayanna is a massive piece of that puzzle.”

Creating an Unstoppable Offensive Core

Ford’s arrival in Oakland creates a dangerous receiving tandem for Newly acquired All-Pro quarterback Nashi Catron and record-setting signal-caller Sarah Teubner. Joining a powerhouse roster that features defensive stalwarts Leilani Caamal, Destanie Yarbrough, Angelica “Venom” Garcia, and versatile weapon Ashanti "Tae" Lewis, Ford fortifies a lineup built to challenge for the Pacific Conference title.

Off the gridiron, Ford will also actively contribute to the Storm Ahead Foundation, engaging with local youth across the Bay Area to expand developmental pathways in flag and tackle football.

“The energy, vision, and standard established by the Golden State Storm made this decision easy,” said Ayanna Ford. “Laney Stadium has quickly become one of the premier environments in all of women's sports. I’m excited to bring my speed, toughness, and competitive drive to Oakland and help this team bring home a WNFC Championship in 2027.”
