GOLDEN STATE STORM RE-SIGNS REIGNING WNFC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR LEILANI CAAMAL FOR SEASON 2
OAKLAND, CA — The Golden State Storm announced today that linebacker Leilani Caamal has officially signed a contract extension to rejoin the franchise for its upcoming second season in the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC).
Caamal, coming off a historic campaign where she was named the WNFC Defensive Player of the Year, set the single-season league tackle record with 90 combined tackles. A cornerstone of the Storm's defense, Caamal established herself as one of the premier open-field tacklers and pass-rush threats in women’s professional tackle football.
"Bringing Leilani back was our highest priority heading into Season 2," said Golden State Storm Leadership. "She brings a rare combination of sideline-to-sideline speed, instincts, and relentless physicality. Her presence sets the standard for our defense and our franchise."
"Oakland welcomed me with open arms, and we built something special in year one," said Caamal. "We laid the foundation, but the job isn't done. I'm coming back to finish what we started and bring a championship home to the Bay."
