GOLDEN STATE STORM RE-SIGN WNFC ALL-PRO DEFENSIVE LINEMAN MO BENNETT FOR SEASON 2
OAKLAND, CA — The Golden State Storm announced today that defensive lineman Mo Bennett (#25) has officially signed a contract extension to return to the Bay Area for the franchise's second season in the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC).
Bennett comes off a dominant 2026 campaign where she earned WNFC All-Pro honours and established herself as one of the most feared interior pass rushers in the league. Anchoring the Golden State defensive line, Bennett delivered high-impact play behind the line of scrimmage, finishing her inaugural tackle season with 12 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and 14 quarterback pressures, alongside 3 forced fumbles. Originally hailing from Statesboro, GA, Bennett’s explosive initial step and relentless motor proved instrumental in transforming the Storm’s front six into a premier defensive force.
"Re-signing Mo Bennett was critical for maintaining our defensive identity," said Golden State Storm Leadership. "Mo was a force of nature up front last season. Her ability to disrupt opponent playbooks, collapse pockets, and command double-teams allowed our entire defense to thrive. Having an All-Pro anchor like #25 back in Oakland sets the exact tone we need for Year 2."
"The energy in Oakland and the brotherhood we built in Season 1 is something special," said Bennett. "Earning All-Pro honours was a great milestone, but our defense is far from satisfied. I’m locked in for Season 2 to bring even more chaos to opposing backfields and bring a WNFC Championship home to the Bay."
