DYNAMIC QUARTERBACK AND FORMER WNFC MVP SARAH TEUBNER SIGNS WITH THE GOLDEN STATE STORM FOR 2027 SEASON
OAKLAND, CA — The Golden State Storm today announced another major addition to their roster with the official signing of quarterback Sarah Teubner for the upcoming 2027 Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC) season.
Teubner, a former Division I athlete turned gridiron phenom, arrives in Oakland fully recovered and healthy following an injury that sidelined her for the 2026 campaign. Leaving Chicago to join the Bay Area's premier franchise, Teubner adds elite firepower, pinpoint precision, and proven leadership to the Storm’s quarterback room as the organization prepares to compete for the WNFC championship.
A former standout midfielder who transitioned her elite vision, footwork, and competitive grit to tackle football, Teubner took the WNFC by storm in her breakout season with the Chicago Winds. She delivered one of the most prolific offensive seasons in league history, leading the WNFC in passing touchdowns, setting regular-season touchdown records, breaking over 1,000 passing yards, and earning League MVP honors as a rookie.
“Stepping away due to injury in 2026 was tough, but it gave me time to reset, fully heal, and get hungry for what’s next,” said Sarah Teubner. “Choosing to leave Chicago for the Golden State Storm was about alignment—the culture, the fan energy at Laney Stadium, and ownership’s commitment to driving pay-for-play and athletic excellence made this the right move. I’m 100% healthy, energized, and ready to elevate our QB room to be the absolute best in the WNFC. We are building something special in Oakland, and I’m here to help bring a championship home in 2027.”
Elevating the Standard on Offense
Teubner’s signing marks a key strategic move for the Storm as they load up on talent entering their second WNFC season.Known for her high-octane passer rating, adaptability, and poise under pressure, Teubner gives Golden State depth and elite competition at the game’s most critical position.
Her arrival underscores the Storm’s ambition to build a dominant, balanced power on both sides of the ball, pairing an explosive offense with a championship-caliber defense heading into 2027.
“Sarah is a dynamic talent and a proven winner who fundamentally changes the dynamic of an offense,” said Jake Langner, Owner of the Golden State Storm. “What she accomplished in her debut season—shattering records and earning League MVP—speaks to her rare athletic gifts. To have a quarterback of her caliber choose Golden State as her clean slate for 2027 speaks volumes about the program we’re building in Northern California. She is fully healthy, motivated, and going to be a huge key to our championship run.”
Off the field, Teubner will also actively support the Storm Ahead Foundation, engaging with local Bay Area youth to expand access to flag and tackle football for young girls.
