GOLDEN STATE STORM RE-SIGN QB1 AND ALL-PRO ROOKIE FINALIST STEPHANIE ELIZONDO FOR SEASON 2

OAKLAND, CA — The Golden State Storm announced today that quarterback Stephanie Elizondo (#12) has officially signed a contract extension to return for Season 2 as the franchise’s starting signal-caller.

Stepping into the professional ranks as a rookie, Elizondo delivered a standout inaugural campaign, earning 1st-Team WNFC All-Pro honors and a nomination for WNFC Rookie of the Year. In her six starts, Elizondo threw for 385 passing yards and 6 passing touchdowns, showcasing composure, touch on deep throws (including a season-long 45-yard strike), and exceptional ball security.

Known for her calm demeanor, steady presence, and leadership under pressure, Elizondo quickly established herself as the engine and emotional centerpiece of the Storm offense. Under her guidance in the huddle, Golden State hit its stride mid-season, executing explosive plays through the air and setting the physical tempo for the entire unit.

"Stephanie’s rookie season proved that she is a special talent and a natural leader," said Golden State Storm Leadership. "Commanding an offense at the professional level as a rookie is no easy feat, but Stephanie did it with poise, command, and precision. She sets the tone for our entire offensive unit every time she steps on the field, and we are thrilled to have QB1 back leading our team in Season 2."

"Taking the field as a rookie in Oakland was an incredible experience, but we're just getting started," said Elizondo. "We laid a strong foundation last year, built incredible chemistry, and proved what this offense can do. Entering Season 2, our expectations are set high—we're focused on executing at an elite level and bringing a WNFC Championship home to the Bay."
